Reliance Fall Protection engaged Design Elevation to develop the external housing for their new Roto-Loc™ retractable lanyard—a critical component in their expanding line of fall protection products. Designed for demanding job sites, the housing needed to convey strength, support durability in harsh environments, and integrate seamlessly with internal mechanical systems.
With a strong background designing life-saving safety equipment, we collaborated closely with Reliance’s engineering team—they developed the internal mechanism, and we focused on designing a protective, professional-grade housing.
Our final design featured:
- Two overmolded, injection-molded components for durability and visual appeal
- A clean, purposeful aesthetic that fit seamlessly into the existing product line
- Materials and geometry chosen to withstand the wear and tear of the job site
From initial sketches and CAD models to 3D-printed prototypes, we tested and refined the housing to ensure a precise fit around their internal components. And with deep familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, and CSA standards, we built compliance into every detail.
The result? A bold, reliable housing that not only protects—but represents—the serious safety work this product was built for.
